Under Pressure: How We Filmed a Bus in a Studio
Imagine this: an urgent call from Accenture Song with a challenge from De Lijn, and an even tighter deadline. Just a week from the creative brief to the actual shoot. Buckle up, because this is the story of our wild ride.
De Lijn needed three films to amp up their summer public transport promotions - a day at the zoo, a shopping spree, and a coastal day off. Sounds breezy, right? Well, not when you're up against the clock.
Shooting on location with De Lijn's buses? Too complicated within the time frame and we also had to deal with the rainy weather. We needed three different vibes, so we suggested a studio shoot for full control. Green key? Tempting, but post-production nightmares lurked. So, we opted for a white cyclorama studio, waving goodbye to green key madness. This choice brings another challenge to the table: how could we use a background without green key?
Now, the challenge: backgrounds. Enter the high-res projector, letting us beam the perfect backdrop on the spot. No post-production headaches, no shifting perspectives. Plus, it meant real-time background decisions with the client. Try doing that with a green key – not so easy.
Together with Accenture Song we embraced the unconventional choices. The constraints pushed us, but guess what? Three stunning films emerged.
